Chairman, Global Steering Group for Impact Investment and The Portland Trust

Sir Ronald is a preeminent venture capitalist, private equity investor, philanthropist, social finance innovator and impact pioneer who is driving forward the global Impact Revolution. He serves as Chairman of the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment and The Portland Trust.

Previously, he co-founded Social Finance UK, USA and Israel; Bridges Fund Management and Big Society Capital. He chaired the G8 Social Impact Investment Taskforce (2013–2015), the UK Social Investment Task Force (2000–2010) and the UK’s Commission on Unclaimed Assets (2005-2007). In 2012 he received the Rockefeller Foundation’s Innovation Award for Social Finance.

He was the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Apax Partners Worldwide LLP (1972-2005), a global venture capital and private equity firm, and he was co-founder of the British and European Venture Capital Associations.

He is the author of “IMPACT: Reshaping Capitalism to Drive Real Change” – a Sunday Times Bestseller. His previous book “The Second Bounce of the Ball” was described by the Financial Times as “One of the best books written on entrepreneurship in recent years.”

Oxford and Harvard educated, Sir Ronald was born in Egypt and left as a refugee at the age of 11, when his family moved to the UK.

Laurie is Founder and CEO of Impact Entrepreneur, LLC, an impact economy business that hosts the Impact Entrepreneur Network, a 28,500 member global network of entrepreneurs, investors and scholars. Ann is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, the first venture firm focused exclusively on software, currently managing over $1 billion in cumulative capital. Since the firm’s inception in 1989, it has launched over 160 new software companies and led investments that pioneered successful companies across the enterprise software sector. 

 Ann has over 30 years of experience in the software industry as a successful software entrepreneur, strategy advisor, technical author and venture capitalist, and she has served as a Director of numerous start-up and public companies. Her background and experience have   been chronicled in many international business and trade publications. Ann has a B.A. in Mathematics and in Business Administration from St. Catherine University and an M.A. in Education with a focus in International Economics from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN. She also has an honorary Doctorate of Law degree from the University of St. Thomas. 

 Ann currently serves as a Director of OptiMine. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of St. Thomas and a Board member of the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation.

Andrew Kassoy

Andrew is Co-Founder and CEO of B Lab Global, a network of organizations transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities and the planet. A leader in economic systems change, the network creates standards, policies and tools for business and certifies companies – known as B Corps – that are leading the way.

Before leaving the private sector to form B Lab with two college mates, Bart Houlahan and Jay Coen Gilbert, Andrew spent 16 years in the private equity industry – as a Partner at MSD Real Estate Capital, an investment vehicle for Michael Dell, as Managing Director in Credit Suisse First Boston’s Private Equity Department and as a founding partner of DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners. With his partners, Andrew received the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship and was featured as a New York Times Visionary. He is a Board Member of Echoing Green, was a member of the U.S. working group of the G8 Social Impact Task Force and was on the Forbes Impact 30 list of leading social entrepreneurs. Andrew was raised in Boulder, Colorado and graduated with Distinction from Stanford University where he was a Truman Scholar and President’s Award winner. In 2001, he was named a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute.

Lisa Jones

Lisa is a Board member and Partner at Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2), where she is a leader in impact investing and strategic philanthropy and serves as lead partner for for-profit social enterprises. She is also helping to lead SV2’s journey toward practicing increased diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Lisa is also a Senior Fellow in the American Leadership Forum – Silicon Valley (ALFSV), serves as a mentor in the GSBI Accelerator at the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship and maintains her lifelong affinity for the performing arts as a member of the Stanford Live Advisory Council. 

She previously co-founded social enterprises, served in senior management roles in Silicon Valley and began her professional work at Bain & Company. Lisa has an MBA from Stanford, and an MS and BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

John Meissner

Managing Director of MXV Ventures

John is the Managing Director at MXV Ventures, a hybrid venture firm that seeks to raise funding from both public and private sources in helping innovators get their ideas out into the world. Their clients are entrepreneurs, scientists, startups, and research organizations — basically anyone focused on solving interesting and challenging problems in the renewable energy and sustainability space.

Prior to MXV, John was an entrepreneur, advisor, and commercialization partner, who has designed, launched, and managed $200M+ in climate tech initiatives for research organizations, government agencies, and non-profits. Most recently, John co-founded a new climate tech incubator called LabStart to match entrepreneurs with innovations being developed at the U.S. National Labs. John is also a consultant to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where he develops industry partnerships and helps commercialize lab innovations.
